Welcome...

M1A2 Tank by Jason Pries
This page is setup to demonstrate some of my work as I progress in the 3D Graphics field. In the future it will feature solely my best work and be more of a 'professional' portfolio. For now, I will upload 'whatever' in an effort to document my progress as I learn new techniques and give those that are interested a place to view my work. A blog and a "work in progress" area are in the works as well.
Many of my projects will contain 'self-critiques': Things I know I could do differently to improve the piece. When time allows, I intend on re-working many of my projects to improve upon them. As I make those improvements, I intend to show them side by side in a separate area of the site.
I welcome critiques from anyone; whether you're involved in design or not. I'm a firm believer that you don't have to be a professional designer to tell if something just doesn't look right. Sometimes the harshest and most accurate critiques come from the average viewer..
About me...
I'm currently a student at RIT majoring in 3D Digital Graphics. My interest in 3D started in 1999 when I dabbled with creating some basic models in 3D Studio Max to import into some of my Quake mods. When the Morrowind TES construction set became available, I spent more time constructing landscapes and playing with the character scripting than I did actually playing the game (and so it went with every game that followed which shipped with its own editor). However, at that time- it was just a time consuming hobby: Nothing more.
I took some time away from my interest in the field to serve in the military in 2001, and served for 8 years as a Calvary Scout. After leaving the military, I've returned with a newfound passion for everything 3D.
My immediate goal is to finish college and perhaps integrate my real world military experience with military oriented games or simulations. However, I also have a passion for MMO gaming and would love to develop a skill set that would be marketable in the development of High-Fantasy RPG's and MMORPGS. I am currently the president of The RIT Game Developer's Club: Green Hand Studios.
Enjoy your visit!
